A compressed air tank as a buffer and storage medium dampens the pulsation and compensates for fluctuating compressed air consumption in the network. In addition, a compressed air tank can be used as a condensate separator. We advise you on the dimensioning of the suitable compressed air tank, take over the commissioning and preparation for the testing of the tank according to the Industrial Safety Regulation by a central monitoring center (e.g. TÜV).

Test specifications for compressed air tanks

The new version of the Industrial Safety Regulation in 2015 brought innovations regarding the testing obligations for pressure vessels.

§ 15 BetrSichV (Industrial Safety Regulation), testing before commissioning and before recommissioning after changes requiring testing

With the testing of printing systems requiring monitoring before re-commissioning and before initial start-up, it is determined after changes requiring testing whether

  • necessary technical documents are available and plausible,
  • technical safety measures are suitable and effective,
  • the plant has been installed according to regulations and is in a safe condition,
  • the deadline for the next recurring inspection has been set.

§ 16 BetrSichV, Recurring test

The content of recurrent inspections is the safe condition of the pressure system requiring monitoring with regard to operation. In addition, it shall be checked whether the period for the next periodic inspection has been fixed.

The inspection intervals are determined on the basis of the container documents in the safety assessment. In Germany, the maximum period for periodic inspections is 5 years for the internal inspection and 10 years for the strength test.
